The two course lunch is taken at the acclaimed Regatta Restaurant in the High Street, Aldeburgh and transport will be arranged to get you there.
Art in Aldeburgh courses are held at The Imogen Holst Room, The Red House, Golf Lane Aldeburgh.
The Red House was Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears’ home in Aldeburgh and offers a charming snapshot into the two men’s lives. The farmhouse, nestled in a beautiful five-acre garden, is home to their collections and archive, alongside a gallery space, museum shop and outdoor café. The Imogen Holst Room is a purpose built educational facility and is big enough to allow social distancing but sufficiently compact to engender an appropriate environment to practise art.

Thank you for another fabulous course with Ake – I came away with an incredible amount of work for such a short space of time, much of it work of a kind I didn’t even know I could do! But Ake’s super-encouraging and generous approach liberates me to have a go at anything without worrying about failure, which is often the biggest hurdle for students.
This has been an excellent two days – lovely studio Lesley and first class tuition Carole.
Excellent course and tutor which I have enjoyed.
It was a great workshop, well organised and friendly – a stroll to a nice restaurant in the High Street at lunchtime, the good luck to paint on the beach on a sunny day and, most important of all, an inspiring tutor who offered masses of encouragement and guidance. I shall certainly come back again.
Please keep doing these courses. I love them. Thank you so much.
Ake was so encouraging and has a lovely way with people. Helped build my confidence and gave me many ideas for future projects.
It could be impossible to improve on perfection – which the course was – would recommend them to anyone as long as they didn’t take my place.
I really enjoyed the weekend.
